Since COVID 19 and the unprecedented demand on our services we, like many other practices across the country, have adapted our access strategy. Contacting the Practice initially via a ‘digital front door’, (e.g., e.Consult) is something that Practices are instructed to do by the NHS; hence we ask patient to complete an e.Consult in the first instance wherever possible. Where a patient is unable to complete an e.Consult, for whatever reason, the Receptionist will take all relevant information and relay this to the Doctor in the same way as we would e.Consult. Our access methodology is also compliant and in keeping with the new contractual regulations.
All requests for a GP appointment are clinically triaged by a GP on the day that they are received. Patients are then allocated appointments based on clinical need and priority.
